Rohan And The Monkey Bars
He was almost bug-eyed with excitment,
Those innocent, sparkling eyes.
He had a grin from ear to ear as he ran
toward the monkey bars.
I heard him call “Look at me, watch me now, I can
climb the monkey bars”.
He clammered up the tall, thin bars, monkey bars, like a
chimpanzee.
“Look at me, watch me now, “Monkey Bars And Me
He hesitated for a moment, just enough to see if I were looking,
Just enough to see him fall!!!!!! [1]
AND THE DUST QUICKLY BLANKETED HIS SMALL MOTIONLESS FRAME…..
I HAD NO FEAR OF THE BOOGEYMAN WHO LURKS IN THE
SHADOWS……………
I ROCKED HIM IN MY ARMS AS THE DUST HOVERED OVERHEAD WITH BIZARRE CURIOSITY……………..
LAUGHING AND CHANTING ‘”LOOK AT ME, WATCH ME NOW,
MONKEY BARS AND ME!!!”.

[1] This is about a little boy aged 7. I took him to the park to play on the swings etc. He climped up onto this wooden playground adventure area. He was too little and too high and I was too late to stop him…..he fell and hurt himself and it was so upsetting. 1989
